Types of Clouds in Cloud Computing

There are four types of clouds used in cloud computing:
  1. Public Cloud
  2. Private Cloud
  3. Hybrid Cloud
  4. Community Cloud
  • Public Cloud: This type of cloud is hosted by one service provider and it is available for the public to have access to cloud, like as Google and Microsoft. Network infrastructure is controlled by the company or service provider. Public cloud has limited security and less security protections. Public clouds are very large in scale and these are cheaper than others. Also public clouds provide resources very efficiently.
  • Private Cloud: This infrastructure is privately owned by the organizations and they can host and control applications and programs over the internet. This is expensive than public clouds but way more secure to use. Information can be seen by any other organization. This is used to provide control and configuration to infrastructure and security in organization. It can be used Internally or Externally.
  • Hybrid Cloud:  It uses a combination of two or more clouds. Public, Private and Community clouds are bounded together to provide advantage of all three clouds. like as, flexibility, leverage of third party and managing the workload effectively. Both on-premises and off-site infrastructures are used in hybrid cloud. In hybrid cloud multiple platforms of cloud security  must be tracked and all the business aspects should communicate.
  • Community Cloud: This type of cloud is shared among organizations. It is governed and controlled by the participants or it could be a service provider of third party. It is used for collaborative group work. It provides benefits of public cloud with strong security and privacy. It is mostly used by government organizations.
